Exploring Gunung Yong Belar Day Hike

April, 12 2014

Mount Yong Belar is the third highest mountain in peninsular Malaysia with the height of 2181 m a.s.l. located on Titiwangsa Range between Perak - Kelantan boarder. It is one of the famous G7 mountains for hikers to access their level of fitness on day hike for total hiking distance of 20 KM with multiple ups and downs which affecting the altitude gained-lossed.

The trail is clear a long the way except for finding the right path to cross the stream, we spent extra hours on that part which cause us hiked in the dark while descent.

Stage 1 : Staircase with more than 200 steps.

Stage 2 : Pipe walking (Follow the pines all the way until you have reached state border marker, you got to follow the red color pine which lead you to left till river).

Stage 3 : Stream crossing (Refer to the photo below). You shall see the flat terrain with hut just a minute after crossing the stream.

Stage 4 : Flat terrain along the way from hut to forest entrance.

Stage 5 : Multiple false peaks will lead you to the Camp Tudung Periuk.

Stage 6 : Long journey with muddy and mossy path lead you to Camp Kasut

Stage 7 : All the way up to the summit of Gunung Yong Belar.
