Exploring Gunung Datuk, Gunung Gagak and Gunung Rembau

August, 24 2014

Gunung Datuk, one of famous hiking place in Negeri Sembilan. The trail to Gunung Gagak and Gunung Rembau is on the left hand site of Datuk peak. The best time to hike Gagak and Rembau would be one or two weeks after the Trans Yam Tuan Antah normally organize on beginning of the year because the trail was clear by the challenger.

The trail from Datuk peak onwards consider clear with some markers but full of leeches, you would pass by some boulders and reach a ‘Y’ junction.  Turning left would lead you to Gagak peak and right to Rembau Peak. We explored the Gagak trail by going downhill with summit push at the final stage.  After 10 minutes photo section we hiked back to “Y” junction for lunch and continue to Rembau Peak.  The trail to Rembau peak is shorter distance and much more easy. Unfortunately, both peak without any view except for the Peak signboard. One think I am not too sure, which is the actual peak for Gagak and Rembau. The signboard showing Gunung Rembau on the right hand side of the "Y" junction and stated 884 meters a.s.l but GPS trail profile show reserve.

10:50  Reached Datuk Peak
11:37  Reached “Y” junction
12:10  Reached Gagak Peak
12:40  Reached “Y” junction for lunch
13:00  Continue to Rembau Peak

13: 45  Head back to Datuk
14:20  Reached Datuk Peak
