Exploring Gunung Jono and Bukit Sangkar Puyuh
July, 07 2019
Gunung Jono is located in Kampung Tanjong Pilah, about 9 KM from Seri Menanti, Negeri Sembilan with the height of 852 meter a.s.l. It seems to be an abandoned trek to the peak maybe because of no view at all at the peak. Bukit Sangkar Puyuh with the height of 867 meter located about 20 minutes (500 meters) away from Jono Peak.
My first attempted to Gunung Jono was in 2017, unfortunately we started with the wrong direction which might heading us to Gunung Pasir. Although Jono is almost the same height with Gunung Angsi but it definitely tougher.
Stage 1: Rubber estate path
The trek started from the left hand side path with few ribbon marking lead you to the peak of rubber estate and down hill to cross a small stream.
Stage 2: Abandoned trek all the way to the white boulder
The path with some ribbon marking and start ascent all the way to the white boulder, estimate 1.5~2 hours.
Stage 3: White Boulder to Jono Peak
All the way up till Jono peak with the estimation of 20~30 minutes
Stage 4: Jono Peak to Bukit Sangkar Puyuh Peak
Both mountains are almost the same height, basically you got to go down hill about 50~80 meters and ascent back. Estimate 20~25 minutes
